After
several days travelling to the city of Kelmarane
the caravan stops when a fire start. Unexpected the chariot of the caravan sage
is engulf in flames and the caravan members try to save the occupant and avoid
the flames to scatter to other chariots.
The heroes
run to help, as Trellian fly and drop sand into the flames, Aurora send her fire janni to rescue the Sage
and the rest help with water to control the fire. Soon the fire is over and the
Caravan is grateful with the heroes as they not just save the life of the Sage
but prevented more damages.
After this
many people, including Almah, started to try find out how the fire started and
who may be the responsible. For many the clear target of the blame was the
suspicious Dashiki, the person hired by Almah as a Gnoll expert. This man,
whoever clamed that he was innocent and the fire was probably started by a
creature indigenous of this region: a Pugwampi.
The group
started the investigation and looked like in fact the shady Dashiki was right,
and soon found the trail of a Pugwampi who not just started the fire but also
stole a goat from the caravan.
Following the trail the group find the creature near a
mountain, and after capturing it (and escaping a giant vulture who lived there)
they returned to the caravan, where Aurora (who speak Gnoll) interrogated the
creature, learning that the Pugwampis in the region live near the town of
Kelmarane, in an abandoned temple of Ra, where they worshiped the Gnolls as
living gods.
With this information the group reached soon the valley
where Kelmarane is set, next to the river Khelmar. Soon they realised that near
was the temple of
Ra , as the Pugwampi told
them, and the Gnolls were set in the ruins of the town.
